Maya's Faith

Maya's Faith

 

     Maya is a Roman Catholic, she loves Jesus and consoles in Him.  Maya has gone through some hard issues and has expressed her faith in the Lord.  This is something that is important to her and to me as well.  She is so supportive of other children and adults with cerebral palsy and other disabilities, which is something that makes me feel good that she understands and has the heart to reach out to others. 

     Mass is something that takes us a little longer than usual to get ready, that is why we do the 10:30am mass at St. Neumann in St. Charles IL.  After having her Kenyan and Starbien in the morning she is ready for mass, she is alert and even though she can stand, kneel and sit like the rest of us, she is as tuned in to father Peck's every word during the sermon.  This girl knows that the Lord has a plan for her and that He has her here for a purpose, she knows that the Lord our Father is the one that is over all things, nothing is impossible for Him. 

     My Lord and savior Jesus Christ will either cure Maya, or He will cure the hearts of all of us around her.  We might someday be normal like Maya.  In His name, Amen.
