Working Together

     I decided to include this page, not as a personal album for myself (which I wouldn't mind) but so that I could be clear of what special needs people do in this life.  Maya's  always wanted to be just the regular girl with friends that gossip and yes, about boys amongst other things.  She likes hanging out and being part of the regular crowd.  This maybe boring to some but certainly not to Maya.

 

 

     In this case I would like to tell you what happened with Maya and her friends at a day at the movies.  They decided they all wanted to go see the movie Into the Woods.  They planned the whole thing out and it was a good plan.  Unfortunately, they didn't realize that Maya gets jumpy with loud noises.  She naturally does this due to her spasticity.  Well, what happened next made my heart melt.  Since Maya had to leave the movie due to this uncontrollable set back, her buddies decided they would take turns each watching a bit of the movie while one of them sat with Maya and then come out periodically and tell her what happened in the movie.  They had a blast doing this.  This goes to show us how human hearts naturally are in God's grace.  A little lesson to those who believe we can't work things out together.  This was a great example of how people with special needs provide us the opportunity and how special people like her buddies took the opportunity.  These girls could have chosen to end the day or just have her go home, but they chose to get creative and figure out a way to work together for a GOOD purpose.  They made a GAIN in life.  They added VALUE to their life and someone else's life.  Isn't that what were here on this earth for?  God bless those girls.
